FAQ's

  • Why are we so cheap?

    • By ordering online you reduce our administration costs,
    • Partnering with spit roast companies we can buy in bulk, so you get the best quality produce at the best price
    • Doing it yourself means you don’t need to pay catering staff
    • Keeping it simple means you don’t pay for items you might already have at home, like salt & pepper.
  • Choosing the date

    • Choose the date with care, consulting special guests before setting the date. Avoid December where possible, as the silly season makes prices rise.
  • Invitations                                                  

    • Give your guests as much notice as possible. Indicate on your invitation that your function is being catered for, this increases your chances of getting an RSVP on time. Set your RSVP for a minimum, of two weeks prior to your function. Too long a notice your guests may forget. Too short notice your guests may have other plans already or not allow you enough time to organise your function.
  • Venue

    • We deliver to any location in the Melbourne metro area from your backyard to a park to a function centre. Make sure we have your contact name and delivery address as well as a contact number so we can call you if any problems may arise. Make sure the location is accessible to our staff. Ensure there is adequate parking.
  • What time will my food be delivered?

    • Your order will be delivered within ½ hour of the time you nominate for delivery.  
    • Give yourself at least ½ hour after delivery to prepare.
  • Will the food be hot?

    • Yes – all your food will be delivered hot in polystyrene eskies and will stay hot in them for a couple of hours.
  • How much meat will I get?

    • You will get a minimum of 300 grams of meat per person, pre-carved in foil trays ready to serve.
     
  • What cuts of meat do we use?

    • Our Beef is the best Angus Bolar Blade you can buy, no hormones, MSA Graded.
    • We use Leg of lamb, all natural guaranteed.
    • Free range Pork Shoulder
    • Supplied by Polar Meat Works – Laverton.
    • Our chickens are Whole Roasted La Ionica
    • All meats are slow cooked to tender perfection and pre-carved for your convenience
  • Food presentation

    • We deliver your food in quality disposable containers that you can just put directly on your table or if you want your guests to think that you prepared all the food, working tirelessly for hours, transfer it to your own platters and bowls etc – add your own touch of class – your  guests will never know!
  • What do I need to supply?

    • You will need service implements for people to serve themselves, Tongs for meats and vegetables, Salad Spoons and plenty of table room to set up your buffet
  • Drinks

    • Looking for a one stop shop? Combine your spit roast meal with drink packages. Choose a meal from our menus,  Drinks from our cellar all delivered by our happy staff
  • Payment

    • We accept payment using both Visa and Mastercard. All prices displayed and transactions completed are done in AUD (Australian Dollars) and are subject to conversion to Australian Dollars Currency.
  • Food Saftey

    • Food should be refrigerated within 2 hours of delivery or throw out the left overs after 4 hours if not refrigerated.
